It is a pleasure to announce the formation of this blog concerning Secrets to Golf Swing Flexibility. Why am I creating this blog? To help pass on a philosophy and methodology that literally changed my life – and my golf swing over 25 years ago.
Let me explain: After a successful amateur and collegiate golf career at Arizona State University, I shortly thereafter sent in my application for the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament to try to earn a playing card for the PGA TOUR. Right before the Q School, I suffered a shattering injury to my right wrist which required two major surgeries, the final one being a procedure where they took out half of my scaphoid bone and put in a prosthetic.
Never giving up on my dream of playing the tour, over the next 10 years, I ended up having two knee surgeries , not to mention shooting sciatica pains periodically down my leg. After years of going to countless health practitioners for my knees (which had gotten worse AFTER the surgeries), I couldn’t help but notice that my golf game had gone from potential tour player to a “solid” 10 handicap! For my golf game, I became as Jim Achenbach has described, “one of the most incredible golf swing psycho junkies” that he’s ever seen.
For years, I took lessons from everybody, and unfortunately, I can say, that none of these “legendary teachers” helped me! One day, in 1985, a PT named Ric McDonald told me that my main problem with my body was a misalignment of my hips which was due to a lack of lack of flexibility. I told Ric that I stretched every day (which I did), but he told me that the stretches I was doing was a waste of time and hadn’t (obviously) done me any good. Ric, then told me there was a right way to stretch and a wrong way, and that I was doing it all wrong. When I learned the right way to stretch – and, in the right sequence, not only did my hips free up, but I became very flexible, and Guess What? My golf game and swing came back. The rest is history.
It’s been my passion over the last twenty years to help people improve their musculeo-skeletal health by learning the proper way to improve their flexibility. Having been successful in helping legions of people, I then needed to figure out a way to educate the mass number of golfers out there/ And, hence the formation of my Infomercial and DVD Series, “Roger Fredericks Reveals the Secrets to Golf Swing Flexibility”. I’m happy to say that for the last two years, my Infomercial has reached millions of people, but I’m faced with the problem of not being able to communicate with so many people that have questions for me and their flexibility concerns. Hence this Blog: I welcome you to this Blog where you’ll have an opportunity to share your thoughts with me and other bloggers in an effort to make your flexibility and your golf swing – the Best it can Be. I will continue to write Articles and more blogs concerning every aspect of flexibility there is and will look forward to hearing your comments. As they say, “I can’t do this alone, but WE can.”
